Kecak dance is purely created as an entertainment in 1930s by Dutch and Balinese artists in 1930s. The creators were inspired by tradition of North Bali mean called "megenjekan" where men gathering on an altar or pavilion with local drink and snack singing simple song or imitate the song of gong music by voice. In the past this was done after the harvesting season, but today it is still being practised by younger generation without any season or can be anytime with alcoholic dring causing serious drunk. Toward the sunset, a Kecak Dance, performed by sometimes more than 50 men topless, with chequered cloth, encircling flickering lights, and sing in a chorus of “ tjak tjak tjak tjak … The dance is not using musical background, but use chorus of human voice as the change. Basic story of the dance is taken from Great Ramayana Epic of India, that is the love story of king Rama and Princess Shinta.
