Bali Music Instruments
One set of Bali traditional percussion music is called angklung with limited notes yet rich type of percussion instruments. Ownership of this set are spreaded to all Bali, weather is it owned by village organization or special music group or personal. The number of angklung set is not as big as the number of gong set that is owned almost by every village in Bali, especially at the southern lowland. The use of Angkung is more limited compared to the use of Gong, yet both at the beginning mostly for the music playing during regiligious ritual.
A set of Angklung music consist of gangsa with only 4 notes, gender lower notes with also 4 notes functioned as bas melody, 4 set of kendang or drum 2 big and 2 small, 1 gong, 4 cimbles, 1 math, 1 set of riong consist of 4 notes, and one set of terompong also consist of 4 notes. Some group add bamboo flutes and some without this instrument. So the player are many persons. The note is based on sectatonic but only taken 4 notes : 1 2 3 5 only.
The production of this traditional music instrument can be found at the village of Tiyingan kabupaten Klungkung where the blaksmith are plenty even in the past almost all families works at this field. Outside Tiyingan village can be found also blacksmith producing this type of music intruments such as at Blahbatuh village.
